Want some toddler lunch ideas for those picky eaters, or even just more lunch ideas for your toddlers? These nine lunch ideas, are quick and easy for your picky eaters to love and enjoy.
Toddlers …. one day they can be eating everything you have in your cupboards, and the next they seem repulsed by it all.
If you are anything like me, constantly trying to think of new or different toddler lunch ideas for your picky eaters. Below are nine toddler lunch ideas for picky eaters, and my go-to lunch ideas for when my children are having a picky day.
These are some of my favorite toddler lunch ideas for picky eaters as they are quick, easy, and pretty healthy, knowing that our toddlers will eat their lunch, all the while eating healthy is always a bonus!
Almond butter or any nut butter is always a good option, as they taste great and they can contain good vitamins which is also great news! A few carrots, some cheese and a banana.
This is very easy to make and my children love it, especially when they are warm, all you need to do it mix and egg with a low sugar small pot of beans and cook on the frying pan just like an omelette. You can also batch make these. Then pop them in the freezer for when you need them next.
It is also served with some red grapes and blueberries, Make sure that the grapes and blueberries are sliced to be on the safe side.
Courgette fritters, cheese, some red grapes (make sure these are sliced) and a oat bar.
The courgette fritters are another winner and easy to make. Grate your courgette with the amount you require and squeeze out as much juice as you can, I mix this with different herbs/ spices to give it a bit more flavor, but you do not need to do this, use and egg and some plain flour and mix to get a batter consistency and fry on the frying pan. You can also batch bake these, and put them in the freezer to use on a later date.
Crackers and butter, Cucumber, red sweet peppers, scotch eggs, oat bar and an orange.
We love a picky plate in our house, not just the Children but us adults too. Which makes this a great option as you can just have the same as your children for lunch, meaning less to tidy .. which in my opinion is a bonus!
Pinwheels, sweetcorn and an orange.
These are perfect, especially as you can batch bake them and freeze them, they are so easy to make. You just need a sheet of puff pastry. (I get the already made ones.) Roll the sheet out and put in what you think your child will like best, a firm winner in our house is tomato paste spread over the puff pastry, then sprinkle spinach, cheese, spring onion and a herb such as basil. Once this is done roll the puff pastry to make a log and cut about 2cm for each pinwheel and place on a baking tray. Wash over with a little milk and place in the over as 180 degrees (fan) for 12-15 minutes and hey presto!
Pitta bread (wholegrain or plain) with a filling your child will love, we like a bit of cheese spread or ham, served with some cheese, cucumber and the fruit is some apple slices and grapes, make sure that these are sliced.
This is great for on the go and nothing in the freezer, as it is very quick and easy to put together.
Pizza wrap, tomatoes (sliced) apple crisps and oat square.
This is one of the favorites at the moment! So quick and the children love them.
All you need is a wrap, and some pizza style ingredients, for the base we use tomato paste, then for the toppings you can use cheese, spinach, onions, sweetcorn ….. the list could go on, experiment and see what works best.
Once you have your topping, you just need to cook them in the oven at 180 degrees (fan) for 5 minutes, yes that is all it takes. Let them cool until a good temperature and enjoy.
Scrambles eggs, strawberries and blueberries (cut and sliced)
So simple and quick but a good way to get some more protein in with the eggs. With the scrambled eggs you can always add some spices or herbs. We like to add paprika or cumin to get it more of a flavor.
Pasta, sausages and naan bread.
This may seem like a lot of carbs, but some days that is all they want to eat. My children like most (I think) love pasta. This pasta is made with a bit of cream cheese melted into the pasta. It gets gobbled up without a fuss…. perfect!
I hope that some of these options will be useful. Hopefully those picky eaters will enjoy some of the lunch ideas, that I have put in the this list.
